Come and Knock on Our Door

What a fun, refreshing way to add some character to your home. I am so tempted to run to Home Depot, buy a can of pink paint, and have at it. Of course, it's clear that painting a door a bright color and having it look good is largely dependent on the architecture surrounding the door. My apartment building is your standard two-story walk-up comprised of an ugly-ish brown brick. I'm not sure a pink door would appear quite so chic. Plus, I think my landlord would have a stroke.

How about you, homeowners? Have you or would you ever break from the standard black, white, or brown door routine and paint your front door something bright and different? If so, what color? I've always favored the idea of a yellow door as a cheery greeting for guests, but I think pink could be a solid contender.

For other door ideas for your home have a look at sliding glass doors at Barrier Components.

These are gorgeous! Love them... but I doubt my other half would have anything to do with a pink front door! :)

We will be painting ours sometime this spring / summer and we're leaning towards a cheery yellow... or possibly a fun shade of blue!

You know I love our bright blue door. And I love telling people which house is ours and to look for the "Bright Blue Door" I feel like it (should) get people excited to come visit knowing that is what they are about to enter. My last house had a coral pink door...still can't decide about the next one!

I've thought about doing the same exact thing but sadly, we have that same pink/brown brick that would not look so cute

Really like the pink doors! There's a yellow door and a red door on our street, but they don't suit the houses at all. And the yellow is the strangest shade of yellow haha

Love it! I don't think the hubs would agree though, I had a hard enough time convincing him to agree to our mint green door.

If I were a homeowner and could get the Boy to agree to it, then yes completely! These doors are so welcoming and cheery. Alas, I am only an apartment dweller... someday... sigh.

My current door is bright, apple green! I LOVE IT and get so many compliments on it. At my last place, I painted the door a sunny yellow. It was equally complimented.
